The CW’s hot new drama Gossip Girl posted week-to-week gains in its third outing in all key demos, with increases of 6% in adults 18-34 (1.7/5), 13% in women 18-34 (2.7/7), 9% in adults 18-49 (1.2/3), 12% in women 18-49 (1.9/4) and 12% in viewers (2.8mil), according to Live Plus Same Day Nielsen ratings for Wed., Oct. 3, 2007.America’s Next Top Model ranked second in its time period among adults 18-34 adults 18-34 (2.6/8) and women 18-34 (4.1/12), behind only ABC, and women 18-49 (3.4/9-tie). In fact, Top Model was just 0.1 of a point behind the much-hyped premiere of Pushing Daisies in women 18-34.

Both Top Model and Gossip Girl handily won their respective time periods with teens (Top Model: 3.0/11 and Gossip Girl: 2.5/8) and female teens (Top Model: 5.2/18 and Gossip Girl: 4.3/14), lifting The CW to Wednesday’s the number one network overall teens (2.8/10) and female teens (4.8/16).

With the strong female appeal of Top Model and Gossip Girl, The CW also ranked as the number two network on Wednesday among women 18-34 (3.4/9), behind only ABC.
