Much I Do About nothing is the perfect example of a season finale, tying up loose strings while creating new ones at the same time. Relationships that seemed stable are crumbling all over the place, and relationships that seemed to be over are flourishing. All the actions takes place around the wedding of Lily and Bert, except for the part where Lily wakes up in Rufus’ bed.

Thanks to the scheming, for good this time, of Blair, Chuck and Dan, Georgina is outed in front of her parents. Serena finds Georgina in Dan’s apartment when she stops in before the wedding starts, from the looks of it something happened between the two. Serena comes clean to Dan about everything that happened between her and Georgina and how she was being blackmailed. Even though Dan has a hard time taking in all the new news and forgiving Serena for lying to him the entire time, he works with Blair to get Georgina to walk right into a well laid trap. Georgina’s parents find out about all her lies, manipulating and drug addiction and tell her she is going to reform school.

Meanwhile, Bert and Lily come to an understanding regarding their past and their past relationships before they head into the church. Rufus still holds out hope that Lily will come back to him, but Lily lets him know otherwise. The wedding takes place with Serena unable to keep her emotions in check, not because she is happy, but because she is afraid she and Dan will not survive the day’s events. After the service Dan tells Serena that he is not able to forgive her for what she did and wants to break up.

The drama continues through the reception as old friends mend bridges and old flames are reignited. Blair and Chuck end up deciding to try out the relationship thing one more time, after Blair sees a different side of Chuck. Chuck and Nate end up understanding each other and reestablishing their friendship after Nate’s father tells him he is leaving the country to avoid jail time.

Just when it seems some things have worked themselves out, we find out that Chuck is not over his bad boy reputation and that Serena and Nate might be so alone after all.

Gossip Girl Episode 18 is the Gossip Girl Season Finale. Gossip Girl Season 2 will kick off in August and the first episode will air in September. Now it’s time to wish the Upper East Siders a very scandalous summer. You know you love it. XOXO.
